Marc Lawrence is a musical jack-of-all-trades. With more than 10 years experience in the industry, he is a record producer, label owner, business consultant and multi-instrumentalist. He plays guitar, bass, drums and keys, and he has industry endorsement deals with Martin Guitars and Pintech Drums.

Marc has also been sought out for his mastering skills. Recent credits include the highly anticipated Black Sheep album, From The Black Pool of Genius, including the Native Tongues’ reunion track, “Birds of a Feather,” featuring Q-Tip (A Tribe Called Quest), Dave (De La Soul) and Mike Gee (Jungle Brothers), and songs featuring Jean Grae, Rhymefest, Rosie Perez and Psycho Les (Beatnuts), plus Steel Pulse sax man Jerry Johnson’s 3 latest solo albums and an upcoming album with the late Sugar Minott.
In 2006, Marc and childhood friend Brett Smith invested in a recording studio and joined forces to form Walkup Records. In its first year, Walkup secured a worldwide digital distribution deal with the Orchard and signed reggae legend, Bigga Haitian, who is known as the first Haitian singer to break into the Jamaican reggae scene. Marc co-produced Bigga's latest album Sak Pasé, which received high praise throughout the industry, including Rollingstone.com, eMusic.com, UnitedReggae.com, Springline Jamaica and Skope Magazine, as well as airplay on more than 80 stations worldwide and sales in 15 countries. The opening acoustic track, “I Am A Haitian,” co-written by Marc, has been in rotation on XM Radio ever since its release. The album also includes a cover of the White Stripes’ “My Doorbell,” which has been applauded by industry giants such as Questlove (the Roots) and Nardwuar (Much Music, CITR, WFMU), who called it “better than the original!” The label signed a blanket license deal with MTV Networks and they placed two Bigga Haitian songs, including “London Massive” from Sak Pasé, in the series finale of NBC’s The Philanthropist.
Marc’s career started with an internship working for Barry Bongiovi at Right Track Recording. He has held positions at MTV Networks, Sony Music, eMusic.com, The Bowery Presents, Vivendi/Universal Music Group and Rowe International/AMI Entertainment, the world’s leading manufacturer of jukeboxes.
